Fallbrook, CA –On a beautiful fall day, the 17th of October, our Fallbrook Alumni Association’s annual picnic was back! It has been held every year to say thank you to our members and the community. Last year was the exception due to concerns raised by the COVID pandemic.
An estimated 200 Warrior alumni and their significant others attended this year’s celebration which included two centenarians and class reunions of classes: 1960-62; 1965; 1976, and some members of the class of 1970 who had to cancel their reunion because of travel concerns during the pandemic.
Doug Sehnert and his FUHS Ag Dept. crew catered the delicious tri-tip lunch for those opting for that bonus, and merchants and individuals from the community of Fallbrook again donated an amazing array of gift certificates and goodies for our opportunity drawing. Fallbrook is a generous and welcoming community!
Dessert, the traditional “Forever Warrior” cake, was a big hit with everyone and many photo opportunities included a beautifully “refreshed” Jimbo. He made his appearance decked out in Warrior duds and cool shades in conjunction with Fallbrook’s Scare Crow Days which occurs during the month of October.
Thanks to the hard work by our members, many called to duty for this event for the first time, resulted in a small profit which will be put to good use in our efforts to support our alma mater. The picnic is not intended to be a fund-raiser, but it is always a relief that it continues to “break even” while providing an opportunity to give back and say, “THANK YOU!”
We look forward to seeing all of you next year on October 16th, 2022!
Remember, Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!!!!
